Farmers Markets, Museums, & More

Best Beer in town:

U Zlatého tygra The type of place where your waiter brings you a beer without asking once it’s below a certain point. Get reservations even in the off-season and be prepared to throw back a ton of beer.

Farmers Markets: 

Farmers’ Market at Náplavka: Every Saturday from 8am-2pm at the river front. Grab a prosecco or beer and stick around for the afternoon. The waterfront gets packed with people all day.

Farmers’ Market at Jiřák: Located at JZP, it runs every Wed, Th, Fri from 8am-6pm. Great place to get lunch, and a 5 min walk from Riegrovy sady beer garden.

Museums:

National galleries: Prague’s national galleries located all over the city have a massive amount of rotating exhibitions. See some classic masters, or modern head-tilters and everything in between.

Communism: Multimedia displays & artifacts presenting a picture of life under the Communist regime in Prague.

City of Prague: Not to be confused with the National Museum, this one is dedicated to just Prague. one of the original faces to the Astronomical clock is currently on display and is much easier to see than the replica that currently hangs in old town square.

Exchange: eXchange: Best place in the city to exchange. Make sure you don’t get fooled by the scammers who hang out in front near the end of the day. To be safe, just go to any bank ATM to pull out cash.

PILSNER URQUELL BREWERY TOUR

Spend your afternoon in the city of Pilsen

Restaurants

Traditional Czech: 

  • Kantyna(€€€):One of our favorites, probably the best steaks, burgers, and beef tartar in town. Not to mention the beer is top quality as well. 
  • Červený Jelen(€€): Lunch here is a must, built in an old bank vault but wont cost you that much. A modern take on Czech cuisine and our favorite. They also have the largest tank-beer in the world. 
  • Nase Maso (€€): Quick and delicious, the burgers here are the same as from Kantyna, the best in the city. Make sure to try the aged beef burger.
  • Restaurace Mincovna (€€); Traditional Czech cuisine and great tank beer, this is a the place for people on a budget but want top quality and service.
  • Katr Restaurant (€€€): A modern take on Czech & unique experience with the ability to have the food cooked at your table. 
  • Field (€€€€): A Michelin Guide one-star rated farm to table restaurant you cannot pass up. Very fair price for what is offered, the menu is seasonal and offers a long (~10) and short (~6)course degustation (or tasting) menu.

Breakfast/Brunch:

  • Bella Vida café (€€): The best eggs benedict in the city, enough said. Not to mention it’s on the river, so great views to relax that hangover away. 
  • Venue(€€): Better get up early for this one, there is ALWAYS a line, sometimes it can be a super long wait. Is it worth it? Some say so, we’re still waiting for our table. 
  • Globe (€€): Sort of an institution here, one of the first places you could get an American style breakfast in Prague. Plus it’s a book store. 
  • Coffee & Waffles (€€): Every dish is served on a waffle, savory and sweet lovers will both be happy here. 

American Food:

  • Philly & Cos (€€): The only place in Prague for American cheesesteaks, wings, deep-dish Chicago style pizza. Owned and operated by two Americans. In the summer there is a great beer garden to enjoy a few and pig-out after a long night out.

Vegetarian:

  • Maitrea (€€€): Looking for that restaurant that has all the vegetarian version  of  burgers, chicken quesadillas, spicy curry and more? Look no further. The most popular in the city for a reason.
  • Lehka Hlaca (€€€): Sort of a modern take, very good and highly recommended. Might have a better chance at lunch because dinner will be packed.
  • Beas (€€½€): There are 12 of these in the city. Great for a quick healthy bite, serve yourself style and weigh the tray. Different and wide range of food daily.
